Sunday afternoon

Sunday afternoon, and what's happening here in Singapore? Well, there's an IT exam tomorrow. Fortunately I've exempted, but most people seem to be busy studying not just for the exam, but also working on the IT group project. The project is all about creating a Wiki on topics related to IT.

I'm not quite sure how the grading works, but I have the impression that the more people contribute, the better it is.

So far I've received three mass emails asking for input. So, just to do everyone a favor, I thought I'd link to the MBAWiki here so that anyone who's interested can check it out and contribute.

Oh, and on the topic of mass emails. They're no longer possible. The MBA office decided to remove all the mass email addresses. This is supposed to stop the so called log-offs.

So, to amuse you all, here are the last couple of mass-email log-offs, all sent after the technical limitation was implemented:
  • From our Student Council President:
Beloved classmates;

After long debates, the student council came up with a list of the 5 hottest girls on campus.

They have agreed to participate in a competition so one of them would become Miss January and thereafter my PA.

The official list is to be found in my back pocket. If you see me around campus, feel free to grab my ass to see for yourself.
  • From student, supposedly to the Dean, Antonio Fatas, but without really copying him:
Dear Antonio,

I write with a special request from the class of July 07. We have been experiencing a bit of difficulty reading our course notes in the pool and on the beach. Personally, though, I prefer to read mine in the jaccuzzi, surrounded by INSEAD’S finest babes.

To resolve this, I was wondering if you could arrange to print our notes on waterproof paper. I’ve called your assistant a few times, but she won’t speak to me any more. Antonio, my brother, where are you, dude?

Party on, Singapore

  • Follow-up email, actually sent TO the Dean.
Dear Antonio,

A few days ago my friend X made a great proposition regarding waterproof paper suitable for the Jacuzzi. Hoping that his request gets a positive response I wanted to build up on his proposition:

We all know that INSEAD can be quite demanding when it comes to reading. Hence, wanting to maximize our time resources I wanted to propose you to print some of the cases in toilet paper. I think that this measure would provide an adequate and environmental friendly manner of disposing of those cases after having read them without actually affecting the quality and diversity of the class discussion.

Best regards,

Y

Now, maybe the IT prof's time would have been well spent explaining to the MBA office that pitting technical limitations against the combined wit of some 400 MBA students is bound to fail? Then again, maybe that in itself would have been a good topic for the MBA Wiki?
